I'm George Shafter and I am the Pastor of Men of Destiny Ministries, Inc. located in St. Cloud, Florida. Men of Destiny (MOD) is a Christian Discipleship Program for men with a history of life controlling problems.

Many of our clients have come from backgrounds of drug addiction and alcoholism, broken families and other difficult situations. Our Mission here at MOD is to help men damaged by destructive behaviors through the “regeneration” process, not just rehabilitation. This process focuses on the inside change of a man, not just the outward appearances of change.

We emphasize strong Biblical foundations including: education, accountability and discipline as instruments for this change. M.O.D. has a NO TOLERANCE policy for drug and alcohol use and our clients submit to random drug screens to secure a healthy, safe and positive environment. In so doing, their lives can be rebuilt with higher moral and social values, better equipping them to become productive members of society.

Potential clients must be 18 years or older. They must be able to find and maintain full-time employment, and be willing to adhere to the policies, rules and regulations of the program.

Since Men of Destiny is a faith-based Program, the potential client must be willing to follow the spiritual guidelines set forth by the staff of M.O.D. Admission to the program begins with an initial screening by phone, followed by a face to face interview with the Program Cordinator. (John Bongiorno) 

MOD does not receive outside funding and rely on God and our own labor to support all the things that the ministry is involved in. Besides working with the men, we also help single mothers, the elderly, people with physical disabilities and we help other ministries that feed and cloth the homeless. We are also committed to donating clothing and toys to missions working overseas. As part of the regeneration process, the men of MOD help to do all these things which in return helps them with there own self worth. As part of our support means, we operate a thrift store and and do all sorts of other things to generate financial support such as lawn maintenance, home repair, trash removal and just about any thing else. This is also a part of the regeneration program that gives the men opportunity to learn a new trade and get back to a normal life style and good work ethics.
